Peterborough County OPP – Charge Laid After Ride Share Driver Assaulted

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault complaint at approximately 1:00am on June 19, 2021.

At approximately 12:45am, a ride share driver attended a local golf course to transport two parties to a residence in the City of Peterborough. An argument occurred between the driver and the parties shortly after departing the golf course which resulted in the driver requesting the parties exit the vehicle. The accused became angry and assaulted the driver prior to exiting the vehicle. The accused was located by officers walking on Highway 7. The victim did not require medical attention.

Ryan NIXON (age 47) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Assault

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 27, 2021.
