Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property

On the morning of Sunday, June 13, 2021, officers were dispatched to attend a north end neighbourhood
regarding a suspected theft in progress. Police learned an unknown male had entered an unlocked garage and
removed a bicycle from the premises.

POLICE conducted an extensive search of the area and subsequently located a man in possession of the stolen property.
As a result of police investigation, 40 -year-old Patrick BASINGER, of Cobourg, was arrested and charged with

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00 Contrary to Section 355(b) the Criminal
Code of Canada
BASINGER was later released from police custody with a future court date.
