There was a vast difference between the beaches in Cobourg and Port Hope on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

While Victoria Beach in Cobourg is open through the week, it’s closed on weekends.

The east beach in Port Hope had many people enjoying the sun and sand along the lakeshore to Lake Street.

Along with the crowds, there were a few traffic jams from vehicles pared along King Street and Madison Street. Adding to the congestion were vehicles parked in prohibited areas. But that wasn’t just confined to Port Hope as by-law officers in Cobourg are now enforcing parking meters and other infractions such as being doubled parked.
