It was a busy day along the harbour area in Cobourg on Friday, June 4, 2021 as workers were preparing for the boat lift on Saturday.

A number of boaters have been wanting to get their water craft onto Lake Ontario, but due to COVID regulation it was delayed until this weekend.

A sailboat called “at last” summed up how most boat owners were feeling about the delay.

The event is organized by the Cobourg Marina and Cobourg Yacht Club.

On Saturday a total of 44-sailboats will be lifted into the Cobourg Harbour for the season with the heaviest weighing approximately 22,000 pounds and the lightest weighing approximately 3,200 pounds.

On Sunday, a number of power boats will be lifted into the water.

The area has been fenced-off for safety.
