Cobourg Police – EMCPA Tickets Issued Resulting from Noise Complaint

On the evening of Tuesday, May 18, 2021, police received a noise complaint from a resident reporting multiple
cars gathered and revving their engines in the area of Division Street and Ballantine Street, disturbing the
neighbourhood.

Upon arrival, police observed three cars and five people congregating in a parking lot.

As a result of a police investigation, police issued four Provincial Offence Notices under the Emergency
Management and Civil Protection Act for fail to comply with an order made during a declared emergency and
two Provincial Offence Notices under the Trespass to Property Act.
