In Local

Local advocate, entrepreneur and municipal Councillor Nicole Beatty is seeking nomination to be the next Member of Provincial Parliament for the Liberal Party for Northumberland-Peterborough South and is holding a virtual town hall on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.

The virtual town hall will be hosted via Zoom and will also have a phone and text-in option for those who cannot connect online. To register visit nicolebeatty.ca/events and fill out the event form. When registering, there’s the opportunity to submit a question, idea, or concern. The community forum will be facilitated by writer, musician and broadcaster, David Newland.

“I’m proud to call the Northumberland-Peterborough South riding my home,” says Nicole. “I’m missing the opportunity to connect with people in our riding in parks, at BBQs, in community halls, and in-person, in your neighbourhood, and at your front door. But the power of technology can still bring us together so I can meet you, hear from you, and learn what’s important to you and your family.”

Born and raised in Cobourg, Nicole is an advocate for positive change. Central to her campaign is improving support for front-line and essential workers, reforming long-term care, attracting new industries that provide a living wage job, investing in youth and in partnerships to build attainable housing and inclusive communities, and protecting our agricultural land and supporting our small bus
