By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland

The Town of Cobourg’s Public Works Department would like to notify residents of a bridge- and culvert-rehabilitation project that begins May 17.
This essential construction project will involve work at six different sites.

1 – Park Street/Midtown Creek Bridge – replacement of steel pedestrian railing

2 – Covert Street/Midtown Creek Bridge – replacement of steel pedestrian railing

3 – Buck Street/Midtown Creek Bridge – replacement of steel pedestrian railing

4 – University Avenue West/Midtown Creek Bridge east of George Street – repair of storm-sewer outlet and surface deck repairs on University Avenue West

5 – Elgin Street East/Brook Creek Culvert west of Workman Road – stream-bank protection, steel-beam guide rail, paving

6 – Danforth Road/Midtown Creek Culvert east of Parkview Hills Drive – structural concrete repairs within existing structure.

Work at these sites will occur over a three-month period.

To ensure residents, the general public and workers are kept safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the contractor will provide protective measures and a site-specific plan that will be followed for the duration of the project.

The Town of Cobourg and Public Works staff thank you for your patience and consideration during these construction activities.
