Peterborough County OPP – Assault Charges At Fowlers Corners Business

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a Fowlers Corners business at approximately 6:15pm yesterday evening to investigate an assault.

At approximately 6:00pm, the business owner asked the accused to vacate the premises. The accused proceeded to assault a customer prior to leaving. The accused was restrained by the victim and another member of the public until officers arrived. Further investigation revealed that the accused had damaged three bottles of alcohol. The victim did not require medical attention.

Derek HADDLESEY (age 30) of Emily Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Assault

• Mischief under $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 16, 2021.
