Peterborough County OPP – Deceased Person Located in Residential Fire

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 1, 2021 at approximately 6:00pm members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Otonabee South-Monaghan Fire Department were called to attend a residential fire on Crystal Springs Drive in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township. The residence was fully engulfed upon officers arrival.

Two occupants of the residence were able to exit the residence. The body of a deceased victim was located within the residence.

The Office of the Fire Marshal was contacted and will be attending to investigate.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Updates will be made when more information becomes available.
