Cramahe Issues Guide to How Council and Committees Work

In City Hall

The Township of Cramahe officially released its new “Working with Council and Committees” Guide earlier today online. With the onset of the pandemic and a shift in how residents interact, and after years of discussion on how to increase public engagement – the Township took the step to develop and launch the guide as a how-to for local residents.

The document will assist residents in better understanding the local government decision making process – and therefore enhance the overall quality of citizen engagement and participation.

“This is a new tool for the public to help them in not only understanding local government – but also to navigating it successfully”, said Mayor Martin. “Public engagement is what makes a successful community – and we are hopeful that this will help to strengthen the bonds between Council and our residents.”

The Township also launched Let’s Talk Cramahe in July 2020 and passed its first Citizen Engagement Charter later that year. These commitments, taken together, are demonstrative of Council’s commitment to creating a vibrant community with citizen engagement at its core.
