Northumberland OPP – Vehicle in Ditch Results in Impaired Charge

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – On Tuesday February 23, 2021, at just minutes before 4:00 pm, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a report of a single vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of County Road 2 and Lisgar Street located just east of Brighton.

Officers arrived at the location and observed an individual sitting in the driver’s seat of a white pick-up truck that was driven into the ditch. While at the scene officers began an impaired driving investigation and subsequently arrested the uninjured driver who was then transported to the Brighton OPP detachment.

As a result of the investigation 26-year-old Brody BROWN, of Brighton, Ontario has been charged with:

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on a date in April 2021.
