Quinte West OPP – Brighton Man Charged Following Traffic Stop

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver following a traffic stop in Trenton.

On February 14, 2021, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of a business on Dundas Street East in Trenton. After observing signs of impairment, a roadside screening test was administered. A s a result, the accused was arrested. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, a large knife was located and seized. The accused was transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing which showed blood alcohol levels well in excess of the legal limit.

Ronald HUMPHREY, 59 years old of Brighton was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and carrying a concealed weapon.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 22, 2021. Further, their licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
