Quinte West OPP – Police Locate Elderly Person on Highway 401 Following Complaint

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) may have prevented tragedy on the 401 Highway.

On February 11, 2021 at 8:35 p.m., Quinte West OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint on the 401 Highway near the westbound Trenton ONroute of a vehicle on the left shoulder and partially in the roadway. Officers arrived, and determined the driver was no longer with the vehicle. One lane had to be closed for a short period of time to allow for the removal of the vehicle and in order to safely locate the driver.

An 87 year old male was located nearby walking along the shoulder of the highway. He was transported to the Quinte West OPP detachment where he was reunited with family members.
