Early Valentine’s Along Cobourg Boardwalk

In Community, Local

A local artist spent Monday afternoon decorating the fence along the Cobourg Boardwalk.

Jenny Duda who created a number of pieces of art during the summer of 2020 when Victoria Beach was closed, was along the boardwalk just west of Durham Street on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

Duda said making a giant mostly red heart along the fence was to let people know that love should be throughout the year, not just on Valentine’s Day on February 14.

‘It’s a nice thing to find on a dull beach. The idea that maybe somebody doesn’t receive a Valentine, maybe they can get a piece of love down at the beach.”

People walking by were very happy to see Duda creating artwork along the boardwalk once again.

“They’re really happy to see a nice taste of colour down here.”

Duda admits it was a tad “nippy” working creating the art with her hands (with no gloves), but she did have pocket warmers.

“It brightens my spirits and I hope it brightens other peoples spirits when they find it.”
