Durham Police – Male Charged with Historic Sexual Assault

A 58-year-old Mississauga male has been charged with historical sexual assault charges involving a minor.

The DRPS Sexual Assault Unit commenced an investigation in November, 2020 after a victim came forward with allegations of a sexual nature against the suspect. These sexual assaults occurred between January 1999 to 2004 in Oshawa.

Investigators arrested and charged Brenton BRATHWAITE, age 58 of Mississauga with: Sexual Assault x2; Sexual Exploitation x2; Sexual Interference x2 and Exposure to Person under 14 Years.

The suspect is known to have owned and operated a mobile rock wall rental company in Oshawa. Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.
