Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Facing Drug Charges

In January of 2021, as part of an ongoing enhanced enforcement strategy targeting illegal drug activity affecting Northumberland County and the safety of our citizens, the Cobourg Police Service
and the Port Hope Police Service Criminal Investigations Branches began a joint investigation.

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, as a result of this investigation, police arrested a woman and seized 58 grams of Methamphetamine (Crystal Meth), 1.75 grams of Fentanyl and $235 in cash. The
estimated street value of the seized drugs is $6,500.00.

Stacey WATSON, a 35-year-old woman from Cobourg, is charged with:

1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine – contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under – contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

4. Fail to Comply with an Undertaking- contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code x 4

The accused was held for bail a hearing on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
