Peaceful Beginning to the New Year in Cobourg For the Most Part

In Local

It was a peaceful beginning to 2021 on the east pier in Cobourg.

At midnight, the bell of Victoria Hall chimed in the new year as Lake Ontario was nearly calm.

Moments after fireworks could be heard and viewed in various locations in the downtown area.

At a small backyard at the corner of Albert and Division Streets fireworks echoed ringing in the new year.

Let’s hope the last ones that didn’t quite explode in the sky and ended up exploding in the backyard aren’t a sign of the times for the new year.
