In News

A family is lucky to have escaped unharmed after a wheel came off their vehicle as they were travelling on Highway 401 on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

The SUV was heading eastbound when suddenly the rear driver’s side wheel came off the vehicle near Port Hope at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The driver managed to maintain control and pulled over at the County Road 28 exit of Highway 401 at Port Hope.

Winter tires had been installed on the vehicle earlier in the day in Toronto.

It’s always recommended to have tires re-torqued after approximately 100 kilometres.

The wheel the came off thankfully did not hit any other vehicles.
