Update – Charges Withdrawn Against Cobourg Woman Who Refused To Identify Herself On Beach

In Local, Police Blotter

A Cobourg woman who was charged with obstructing a peace officer earlier this year on Victoria beach has had her charged withdrawn in Cobourg court.

Tamara Ugolini (age 32) was charged on the afternoon of Saturday, July 4, 2020 after police attended Victoria Park, “regarding a female who was reportedly observed walking in the area clearly posted as closed with visible signage indicating entry prohibited.”

Police said when they approached, Ugolini was “uncooperative with police refusing to identify herself.”

She was charged with obstructing Peace Officer Contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code and Enter Premise when Entry Prohibited contrary to Section 2(1)(a)(i) of the Trespass to Property Act.

Crown Attorney Russell Wood stated, “the charges were withdrawn on November 4th. As I indicated on the record at the time, Ms. Ugolini successfully completed our direct accountability program (diversion).”

Today’s Northumberland reached out to Ugolini who did not wish to comment.
