City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Fatal Collision

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on November 22, 2020.

At approximately 3:20p.m. an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a call related to a two vehicle collision on Simcoe Street, south of Thorah Concession Road 1.

Initial investigation indicated that a north bound vehicle lost control and entered into the south bound lane where it was struck by a south bound vehicle. ;The driver of the north bound vehicle was transported to a local area hospital and then a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.

The passenger in this vehicle, Richard Harris, 18 years of age, from Brock Township, is deceased.

The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation unit and Reconstructionist were deployed to the scene to assist with the investigation.
