Behan Construction Helps Rebuild the Community with Donation

In Community, Local

Behan Construction – a long-time member of the local community – is rebuilding that community with a $20,000 matching offer for Northumberland United Way.

Through the end of December, Behan will match all donations to Northumberland United Way up to a maximum of $20,000, doubling the impact of your donation.

President Tom Behan said in the announcement that they like to support United Way because of its neighbour-helping-neighbour approach.

“The money goes directly into supporting our community, helping to improve the lives of those amongst us who need a hand up,” Behan said.

“United Way has a long history of being well connected with a wide range of community contacts, so they are in a strong position to determine the needs in this area, and United Way knows how to best stretch the money for maximum effectiveness. We have a high level of confidence that our money is going to be put to good use by United Way.”

Through the matching arrangement, the press release noted, this support equates to some $40,000.

“All dollars raised will support those who need it most in our community and to address the emerging needs we continue to see as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic,” it said.

Northumberland United Way executive director Bobbie Dawson expressed her gratitude for the company’s support.

“Behan Construction has been a long-time supporter of United Way locally, and we are so thankful for their continued generosity and commitment to helping people right here at home,” Dawson said.

During these unprecedented times, while the need in the community continues to outpace funds and programming available, every dollar counts. And every dollar donated to United Way helps support vital programs in Northumberland County in meeting the immediate needs of the most vulnerable individuals.
