Breaking News -Setting Sun A Factor After Pedestrian Struck in Cobourg

In Police Blotter

A driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act after a person was struck in Cobourg on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

At approximately 4 p.m. emergency services were called to Division Street at Spencer Street after a woman was struck by a vehicle.

A vehicle was heading west on Spencer Street when the woman was struck at Division Street.

The woman was transported to hospital with unknown injuries and the driver of the vehicle was charged with fail to yield to pedestrian.

Police said the setting sun played a factor in the collision and police remind drivers this time of the year to use caution when driving as the setting sun may cause a hazard for the driver.

Even with the setting sun police remind drivers, it is their responsibility to always make sure the roadway is clear.
