Durham Police – Two Suspects Arrested after Puppies Stolen in Oshawa

Two suspects are facing charges after stealing seven puppies from an apartment building in Oshawa.

On Friday, September 18, 2020 the victim reported a break and enter to her apartment unit on Pentland Street in Oshawa. During the break and enter, seven bull mastiff puppies which were two and a half weeks old were taken from the residence. Investigators commenced an investigation and executed a search warrant on an address on Anton Square in Pickering. Police seized three puppies from the home. It is believed that the remainder of the stolen puppies were sold.

The suspects were arrested a short distance from the residence on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 and charged.

Sophia PIPAPAHARAN age 26 and Dananjeyan UTHAYAKUMAR, age 20, both of Anton Square in Pickering have been charged with: Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence and Possess Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.

UTHAYAKUMAR was held for a bail hearing and PIPAPAHARAN was released on an Undertaking.
