Winter Parking Regulations in Effect as of November 1st in Cobourg

In Local

The Town of Cobourg would like to remind all residents that the bylaw to regulate the parking of motor vehicles (Parking Bylaw No.080-2014 s.34) in the Town of Cobourg during winter months will take effect as of November 1st, 2020.

The Town of Cobourg appreciates the efforts of its residents in parking off-street to allow for safe and efficient snow removal operations during the winter season. It is especially important that collector and arterial roads (major roads) remain clear for safe passage.

By-law number 080-2014, Part XIII, Section 34 states that no person shall park a vehicle on any designated collector and arterial roads, as well as all roads listed within Schedule O of the By-law,
between November 1st and March 31st, which is designated the winter parking season, between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Parking by-law number 080-2014, Part XIII, Section 34 states The Chief of Police, or his designate, have the sole authority to have any vehicle which is parked on a road or highway within the
Corporation, and which is obstructing the removal of snow from the streets, moved and this shall include having the vehicle towed away and impounded.

Residents are reminded that even though parking is permitted on all residential streets during the winter months they are also subject to the following by-law should their vehicle obstruct snow clearing operations.

For a full list of designated collector and arterial roads visit the Town’s website at (www.cobourg.ca).
