City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Guardians of the Torch

In Community

The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) is the largest public awareness vehicle and grass-roots fundraiser for Special Olympics. This year organizers challenged individual police detachments to raise $250.00 to sponsor an athlete.

Challenge accepted! On October 15, 2020 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OP) completed a 5km run, in the rain, in order to raise funds for the Special Olympics. To date, $500.00 has been raised by the detachment.

All funds raised through Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run events are directed into program support that directly affects all community Special Olympics Ontario (SOO) programs.
