MPP Holds Drive-Thru Food Drive in Port Hope

In Community, Local

MPP David Piccin held a “Drive-Thru Food Drive” on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his Port Hope office.

From 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. people were invited to drop off a food item in exchange for a pumpkin.

Helping Piccini out on Wednesday was Port Hope councillor Jeff Lees and Port Hope Police Constable Tammie Staples.

“This time of year for so many, people worry about where their meal is coming from – that’s the last thing people need right now for COVID-19.”

People could drive up to drop off food and pick out a pumpkin.

“And it’s a way to re-stock the shelves, post Thanksgiving and heading into Christmas.”

Piccini said he had an amazing turnout in Clarington and in Port Hope.

Piccini will also be in Cobourg (Saturday at Foodland on Division Street), Brighton (Friday starting at 4 p.m. at No Frills) and Norwood (Foodland) in the following days.
