The Salvation Army “Coats for Kids” Kicks Off 26th Season

The Salvation Army Coats for Kids kicked off their 26th season at the Salvation Army building in Cobourg on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

Dignitaries came out including Rod Baker who originally came up with the idea for coats for kids. Baker got the support of Kim Harvey and Salvation Army Dave Alexander and the program has been a success ever since bringing in over 15,000 winter coats, mitts, and boots for children.

Donation schedule for coats and boots are from Monday, September 21, to Friday October 9.

Anyone can bring in children’s good/clean used coats and boots along with other winter apparel in good condition like snow pants and winter mitts.
Please make sure coats are put in a clear plastic bag when dropping them off at:

Coats for Kids Distribution Schedule
Wednesday, October 14th to Friday, November 6th
Come and pick up free of charge a good used coat clean by Baker Cleaners and a pair of boots sanitized by Beebe’s Boot Shop Ltd. For your child or any number of elementary school aged children. There may even be some coats that fit your teenager.
