Public Input Open for Cannabis Retail Store Application in Downtown Cobourg

The Town of Cobourg would like to advise citizens that a Cannabis Store Retail Authorization application under the Cannabis Licences Act, 2018 has been submitted to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for a location in Downtown Cobourg.

The details of the Cannabis Store Authorization application are the following:

Local Cannabis Inc.
2 King Street East
Cobourg, Ontario

Currently, the AGCO is seeking public input, objections and submissions in response to the cannabis retail store authorization application. The regulations set out the following as matters of public interest that the Registrar will consider; protecting public health and safety, protecting youth and restricting their access to cannabis, and preventing illicit activities in relation to cannabis.

The online public objection/submission is open until August 27, 2020.

It is important to note that under the Cannabis Licences Act, 2018 this application process is not and cannot be regulated by Municipal Council.
