Peterborough County OPP – Three Charged After Burleigh Falls Altercation

(SELWYN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Burleigh Falls on July 3, 2020 at approximately 8:45pm.

The complainant reported that a group of males were damaging a vehicle with baseball bats and golf clubs after an altercation occurred between two groups that were swimming at Burleigh Falls. The males left the area but were located in the Young’s Point area and arrested.

Allan STRONG (age 18) of Oshawa, Ontario was charged with:
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Assault with a weapon
Driver-fail to properly wear seat belt
Litter highway
Drive motor vehicle, no validation on plate
Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
Novice driver-B.A.C. above zero

Jeffrey CHESSMAN (age 21) of Ajax, Ontario was charged with:
Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
Passenger-fail to properly wear seatbelt

Randy CHESSMAN (age 25) of Ajax, Ontario was charged with:
Mischief under $5000- two counts
Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
Being intoxicated in a public place
Consuming liquor in other than licenced premise s, residence or private place

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 8, 2020.
