Update – Peterborough County OPP – Boating Collision

-UPDATE-
The body of the deceased male was located by the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) at 3:15pm this afternoon. The male has been identified as Tien Dat TRAN (age 41) of Markham, Ontario.
The cause of this accident remains under investigation.

(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist at a boat accident on Rice Lake this morning at approximately 7:00 am.
A boat with three males on board lost control while travelling on Rice Lake near Wood Duck Drive. One male was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, one m ale was transported by air ambulance to a Toronto hospital with serious injuries and one male is unaccounted for. The OPP Marine Unit, Otonabee-South Monaghan Fire Department and a helicopter from OPP Aviation Services are currently searching the area for the missing male. The Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) is attending to assist with the search.
The cause of this accident remains under investigation.
