City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Customer Arrested After Spitting Incident

 On May 10, 2020 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted when a customer spit on the counter at a retail location in Bobcaygeon.

 

Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to the call and learned that a customer became agitated when dealing with the cashier, yelling racial slurs and then spitting on the counter.

 

Investigation resulted in the officers identifying the person and then locating the suspect. Michelle Wright , 33 years of age, was arrested and charged with the Criminal Code offence of mischief.

 

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 16, 2020.
