Driver Trapped After Single Vehicle Collision North of Garden Hill

In Police Blotter

One person was taken to hospital following a single vehicle rollover north of Garden Hill on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

Emergency services received the call at approximately 6:50 p.m. on the 10th Line just east of County Road 10.

A vehicle travelling westbound lost control after it crested a hill, went into the south ditch striking a tree and rolling several times before landing on its roof.

The lone occupant of the vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated by members of the Port Hope Fire Department. During extrication, firefighters discovered there was a small dog also inside the vehicle.

The occupant was transported by Northumberland County Paramedics and an air ambulance was called to Northumberland Hills Hospital.

The extent of injuries are unknown and Northumberland OPP are continuing their investigation.  The dog was uninjured.
