In Editor Choice, Police Blotter

Today’s Northumberland spoke with the mother of a 15-year-old victim who was assaulted on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Cobourg.

The victim was standing outside Tim Horton’s/Circle K Convenience on Division Street over the lunch hour when a person approached him.

A drink and food were swatted out of his hands and he was struck 15 times along with being kneed twice.

A 16-year-old is charged and police are continuing their investigation.

The mother of the victim is extremely grateful for the support from the community, but like others is shocked that no one stepped in to help him as the attack was happening and after.
