Peterborough County OPP – Serious Collision Closes Highway 7

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency services were called to assist at a collision at approximately 10:30 pm last night. The collision occurred on Highway 7 at Villiers Line.

A minivan travelling eastbound crossed the center line and struck a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) that was travelling westbound. The driver from the minivan was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. The driver from the CMV was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Highway 7 was closed while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. Highway 7 reopened at 8:30 am this morning.
