Update – Suspects Identified In Omemee Shooting

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate the shooting incident that occurred on February 18, 2020, shortly after 1:00 p.m. in Omemee under the direction of Criminal Investigation Branch.

As a result, Aaron SIMMONDS, 23-years-old and Zachary SIMMONDS, 18-years-old, both of Bethany, Ontario were arrested and have since been charged with Second Degree Murder contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay earlier today and have been remanded until February 27, 2020.

Investigators are requesting any persons who may have witnessed this incident to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
