It was a gorgeous winter day for the annual Castleton Cup took place on Family Day, on February 17, 2020.

The event was fundraiser for the Castleton Sports Club with co-organizers Jeff Turney and Stacy King running the event with the help from numerous volunteers.

A total of 31 teams including Oshawa, Cobourg, Campbellford participated in the tournament in different categories including a family division.

There was a total of 93 games played throughout the day.

“What makes it special is that it’s outdoors, it’s hockey and it’s something we love doing for the kids,” said Turney.

“It’s a great place to be. I don’t know of any other place like it.”

As the tradition continues, there are no winners, there are no losers and no scores were kept.

“It’s for everyone,” said King.
