Cobourg Police – Drive Under Suspension and Possession of a Controlled Substance

On Saturday January 25th 2020 Police were on general patrol and conducted a motor vehicle stop in the west end of Cobourg.

Through investigation it was learned the driver, Jesse HARRISON 28-years-of-age of Colborne, was a suspended driver. HARRISON was arrested and search incident to arrest. Police located a small quantity of suspected fentanyl and marihuana readily available to driver.

HARRISON was charged with the following offences:
1) Drive While Under Suspension – Contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

2) Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Fentanyl – Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

3) Drive Vehicle Cannabis Readily Available – Contrary to Section 12(1) of the Cannabis Act

The accused’s vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from custody with a future court date.
