The Canadian Federation of University Women – Northumberland luncheon, open to all, is a fundraiser for annual scholarships and bursaries it has been awarding since 1991.

In 2019, CFUW-N awarded six $750 scholarships to students attending the six Northumberland County high schools, two bursaries of $500 and $750 to students continuing their studies at Fleming College and Trent University respectively, and a one-time bursary, to celebrate CFUW’s 100th anniversary, of $1,000 to a Ph.D. student at Trent University.

Businesses and corporations are encouraged to make donations to the fund.

Former CFUW-N guest speakers include Anne Sado, president of George Brown College; Joy Kogawa, a decorated Canadian author; Helga Stephenson, award-winning film and media arts personality; and Alia Hogben, executive director of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women.

Tickets for the luncheon are $65, plus service fees. A tax receipt will be issued for a portion of the ticket price.
