Port Hope Police – Taxi Driver Charged With Impaired Driving and Driving With A Suspended License

A taxi-driver is facing charges after being arrested by Port Hope Police on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

Shortly before 1 a.m. police noticed a vehicle travelling above the speed limit along Peter Street heading east towards Cobourg.

Officers stopped the vehicle near Gages Creek bridge and detected an odour of alcohol and the woman driver showed signs of impairment.

The taxi driver was later charged with impaired driving and driving with a suspended license.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45-days.

Another cab company was called to drive the person to their destination.
