Cobourg Police – Theft and Fail To Comply with Probation

On Friday November 29th, 2019 Police were dispatched to a department store in the north west area of the Town of Cobourg regarding a shoplifter in custody.

Police attending the location and a result of police investigation, the accused, Steven BAKER, a 45-year-old male from the Town of Port Hope was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 – contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada, possession under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the criminal code of Canada and two counts of breach of probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the criminal code of Canada.

The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear – officer in charge undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
