Cobourg Police – Female Arrested for Theft and Obstruct Peace Officer

On the 30th day of September, 2019 at approximately 3:34pm, Police located and arrested a female after receiving 2 reports of her being responsible for thefts from local businesses.

The female provided Police with false identification. The female’s identity was later confirmed through police investigation as 21 year old Anne-Sophie HOUETO of Toronto. HOUETO was charged with the following:
1. 2 counts of Theft under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code
2. 2 counts of Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code
3. 2 counts of Obstruct Police Officer contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code

HOUETO was held in custody for a bail hearing on the 1st day of October 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice.
