Northumberland OPP – Two Drivers Face Charges of Impaired Driving

On Saturday September 21, 2019 members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made two arrests for impaired driving in less than an hour.
At approximately 1:40 am police responded to the area of Nelson Road north of Campbellford after received a call from a female who was looking for help getting back home. Officers located the female sitting her vehicle and found her to be under the influence of alcohol. Jessica Lynn Morris-West (age 34) of Toronto, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Less than an hour later just before 2:30 am officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the camping area of Presquile Park in Brighton. Officers located the grey four door sedan in the west side ditch on Presquile Parkway The male driver was found to have been consuming alcohol. Orion GURAL (age 47) of Little Britain, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Careless Driving
Both accused received an immediate 90 day licence suspension and the vehicles they were driving were towed and impounded. They were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 30, 2019.
