Northumberland OPP – Quinte West Man Charged With Stunt Driving

In Police Blotter

Just before midnight on Saturday September 21, 2019 an officer from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2019 black four door sedan in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Alnwick-Haldimand Township after it was measured travelling 167 km/h.

Michael Roland Maurice COMTE (age 26) of Quinte West, Ontario was charged with:
• Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed.

His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was driving was towed and impounded. He is scheduled to appear in Cobourg court on November 6, 2019.

Highway safety is a shared responsibility and the OPP would like to remind motorists to drive within posted speed limits, exercise patience and not allow themselves to be distracted while driving.
