Castleton United Church Welcomes Everyone To Help Celebrate 154 Years in The Community

In Upcoming Events

The congregational members of Castleton United Church invite everyone to come & celebrate 154 years of the Church in the community of Castleton.

Originally a Methodist church, it had its beginnings around 1853 as a branch of the Colborne Methodist Charge.

The red-brick building was dedicated in December 1865. The $1,600 new church was opened almost free of debt; by the time the opening ceremonies were over and the proceeds from their attendant collections and teas amassed, the church members had raised enough to clear the mere $200 debt that had been outstanding.

The Castleton United Church is now part of the Castleton Grafton Pastoral Charge – an affirming ministry. The Castleton United Church will celebrate this Sunday, September 29th with a service beginning at 11 am with Guests, Charlene Marcus and Shasta Morey leading the worship.

They will lead the congregation in a sing along of hymns, new and old, using their unique musical instruments and beautiful vocals. The congregation welcome everyone to stay after the service for fellowship while we enjoy a potluck finger food luncheon.
