In Police Blotter

Port Hope Police along with Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry were patrolling the banks of the Ganaraska River in Port Hope on Saturday, September 7, 2019.

There were a number of anglers fishing for salmon along the river and most were in compliance but a few were charged by officers.

One person was charged with not having a fishing license and a woman from Richmond Hill was given a summons to appear in court after being charged with snagging and fishing in a sanctuary (under the bridge of Jocelyn Street).

Members of the Port Hope Police Service and Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry regularly patrol the Ganaraska River.
