“IT Chapter 2” Premiere’s At The Capitol Theatre In Port Hope

The premiere of It Chapter 2 took place at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope on Friday, September 6, 2019.
It was a full house for the event with over 300 people winning tickets by participating in a local business contest.
For the film, Port Hope was transformed into Derry, Maine for the production.

Filming for both movies of IT was mainly held in the town of Port Hope.
Northumberland United Way also held a draw for a prop used in the movie which was a arm cast.
The winner was Noah Rylott from Cobourg.
Superfans, Oscar Paxton and his father Jordan came up from Connecticut with Oscar helping Northumberland United Way executive director Bobbie Dawson with draws for prizes.
