Ongoing neighbour dispute leads to charges
1A neighbour dispute has resulted in a man being arrested for Criminal Harassment. On the 24 th of August shortly after 9:00am Port Hope Police responded to an east end resident after receiving a call about an ongoing neighbour dispute. Information was received that during this dispute the one neighbour was repeatedly yelling at, swearing at and threatening the female neighbour over a boundary dispute. The dispute had been ongoing for several weeks. The 61 year old man was arrested at the scene. He was taken to the Port Hope Police Station processed and released on an allegation of Criminal Harassment. Police will not name the accused in order to protect the identity of the complainant.
Break and Enter

On the 24 th of August 2019 shortly after 11:00am Port Hope Police were called to a down town apartment complex to investigate a break and enter into one of the apartment units. The break and enter is believed to have occurred between August 21st and 24th. During that time someone entered the apartment through a window off of the balcony. Money and Liquor was taken. Two GTA men arrested for shoplifting
Two men have been arrested after one was discovered stealing baby formula from Your Independent Grocer. On the 24 th of August 2019 before noon the man was observed by staff trying to leave the store without paying for the formula. When confronted he fled the store out into the parking lot and was observed getting into a vehicle that was occupied by another man who was driving. Police were called to the scene as staff kept a visual on the vehicle. Police located the vehicle with one man hiding in the back seat. Both were arrested. 35 year old Joshua Bennet of Toronto is charged with being a party to the offence of theft under $5000.00 and 29 year old Gabriel Villegas-Kerlinger of Kitchener is charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and Possession of property obtained by crime. They both appear in court later in September 2019. Baby Formula is regularly used as a cutting agent in the manufacturing of illicit drugs.

Weapons charges laid after disturbance
A man is facing assault and weapons charges after Port Hope Police were called to disturbance in the Municipality’s west end. Shortly after midnight on the 25 th of August Police commenced an investigation into the matter. Information was received that the complainant and other witnesses attended the area after they heard someone screaming. When they arrived one person was confronted by a man who was holding a small knife. The man brandished the knife at the complainant indicating that he was going to get stabbed. The group left the area and called Police. This same man is said to have confronted another man earlier who also heard the disturbance and went to see what was happening. He too was threatened with this knife when he confronted this man. Police were able to confirm the identity of the male and located him at his residence a short distance away where was taken into custody. Zachary Dennis 19 years old is charged with weapons dangerous, two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of threatening bodily harm. He appears in court in September 2019.

Motor Vehicle collision results in injuries and charges
On the 26 th of August shortly before 7:00am Port Hope Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Hope and Peter Streets. Upon arrival two vehicles were located both sustaining heavy damage. Information was gathered from witnesses that a pickup truck driving westbound on Peter Street entered the intersection and collided into a vehicle that was south bound on Hope Street attempting to turn left. The driver of the southbound vehicle was transported to NHH to be assessed for injuries. A 38 year old Coburg man is charged with failing to stop at a red light and failing to produce evidence owner is insured. The other driver was treated and released from NHH.
