Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged With Impaired Driving

On Saturday August 24th 2019 at 6:16 am police received a call to attend a restaurant on William Street in the Town of Cobourg regarding a possible impaired driver waiting for their order at the receiving window in the drive thru.

Upon arrival police approached the vehicle in question and the investigation revealed that the driver was showing obvious signs of impairment.

As a result the lone driver Justin Young of Cobourg was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance. He was subsequently transported to a qualified breathalyzer technician where he provided two samples of his breath into an approved instrument where the results were almost double the legal limit.

As a result of the police investigation Justin Young was charged with the following charges:
– Operation while Impaired – alcohol contrary to section 320.14(1) of the Criminal Code
– Impaired Operation – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus section 320.14(2) of the Criminal Code
– Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
