Cobourg Police – Sexual Assault and Food Fraud Arrest

On Friday August 9th 2019 Police were dispatched to an eating establishment in the downtown area for the report of a sexual assault and food fraud.

The victim advised the accused grabbed her for a sexual purpose and made sexual comments towards her and the accused also failed to pay for his tab at the establishment.

As a result of the incident the accused was arrested and charged with sexual assault (Contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada) and food fraud (Contrary to Section 364(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada) and released on conditions.

The accused’s name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
