Three Fire Departments Battle Field Fire In Hamilton Township

Three fire departments battled a 50-acre field fire in Hamilton Township, north of Cobourg on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Hamilton Township Fire Department were called to Sully Road north of County Road 9 for a field fire that started from a tractor/hay baler that caught fire.

The wind caused the fire to spread extremely fast and Port Hope Fire Department along with Alnwick/Haldimand Township Fire Department were called for assistance.

The owner was taken to hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation. Smoke could be seen for several kilometres.
